SITAPUR — A local fast-track court in Sitapur on Tuesday sentenced a man to eight years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000 in a 2011 rape case, authorities confirmed.
The verdict was delivered by the Additional Sessions Judge/FTC (OAW) against convict Shivkumar under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. Officials stated the conviction followed effective prosecution under Uttar Pradesh Police's state-wide 'Operation Conviction' initiative supervised by Sitapur Superintendent of Police Ankur Agarwal.
